REACH pre-registration for polymers likely

At the last CARACAL polymer sub-group meeting in November 2020, it was discussed whether to require a mandatory pre-registration for all polymers imported into or manufactured in the EU. This pre-registration would also require the provision of some data on the substances, which would then be used to prioritize the group of polymers requiring registration (PRRs). While many member states and NGOs welcome the idea, the chemical industry is wary about the process. Additional discussions will take place in 2021.
