Sustainable Packaging Compass

The Netherlands Institute for Sustainable Packaging (KIDV) released The Sustainable Packaging Compass, a web-based tool to assess the sustainability of packaging based its recyclability, circularity and environmental impact. The tool also enable to compare the effect of different packaging choices on these aspects.

The calculations are based on the sorting and recycling facilities available in The Netherlands, and are currently available for flexible and rigid plastic packaging, with paper, cardboard and glass coming later this year. The tool is in English and publicly available, with some features (like the comparison of scenarios) requiring (free) registration.
