Xeikon partners with Alwan to enhance Color Services with G7® color matching
Xeikon, an innovator in digital color printing technology, reports that it has reached an agreement to incorporate Alwan Color Expertise color calibration products into its Xeikon Color Services (XCS) consulting and software offering. Most notably, Xeikon Color Services will now include a package for G7 certification and other color matching services that leverage Alwan’s PrintStandardizer and PrintVerifier software.
“Print buyers who are procuring a variety of materials, such as marketing collateral, mailings, signage, packaging, books and catalogues, want a similar visual appearance across different printing processes. By taking advantage of Xeikon Color Services, Xeikon press owners can refine their color workflows and put in place standard operating procedures that will ensure color consistency across shifts, operators, presses and locations,” says Jeroen Van Bauwel, Director Product Management at Xeikon. “We are pleased to complement our Color Services with the G7 color matching thanks to the Alwan solutions. Predictable and repeatable color with Xeikon Color Services
The Xeikon Color Services is a color management and certification program offered to all Xeikon users. XCS comprises four modules:
- Xeikon Color Discovery & Gap Analysis: the first stage, where Xeikon’s color experts visit the print factory for a thorough audit of customer color workflows and suggest standardized ways to achieve consistent, repeatable color.
- Xeikon Color Control (XCC): an easy-to-use cloud-based service enabling generation of profiles and color tables as well as determining best matches for Pantone and brand colors with Xeikon presses.
- Xeikon G7 Compliance Certification: the G7 standard is designed to help printing operations achieve and maintain accurate and repeatable color through precise setting of gray balance on the press. Alwan’s PrintStandardizer and PrintVerifier software will be used as key elements of a certification process which results in the customer achieving G7 Master Printer status.
- Xeikon Custom Color Services: this module is available for printers that need to match Xeikon digital print output to that produced by other printing processes (such as flexo or offset, or other types of digital presses). This module combines an onsite discovery stage, followed by current state analysis, recommendations for standard operating procedures and implementation of relevant components including Alwan and X-Rite tools, and training of personnel.
