Xeikon celebrates Self Adhesive Labels sales success around the world

Middle Eastern and Mexican firsts for Xeikon 3300 as KIMOHA Entrepreneurs Ltd. and Innovo F&H sign drupa 2012 deals

Xeikon (Hall 8a, stand B4) is celebrating a triple success at drupa that includes the first sales of its Xeikon 3300 label presses in the Middle East and Mexico. Dubai-based KIMOHA Entrepreneurs Ltd. purchased the first digital label press with DCoat330 flexible converting solution in the Middle East while Innovo F&H was the first to make the investment in Mexico. BS Labels was the third company to sign up to the business winning benefits of the Xeikon 3300.

KIMOHA Entrepreneurs Ltd is a high quality label printer serving the Middle East region covering a broad range of markets including food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics supplied to leading brands including Nestle, J&J and Total. The new press was chosen as the ideal solution to complement a large flexo division. “The Middle East is a strong growth market and investment was necessary to ensure we could capture the opportunities,” comments Wolfram Gruening, Executive Director. “The addition of digital capabilities will enable us to be more competitive in short to medium runs. We will be able to respond more effectively on quick turnaround jobs – taking the pressure off our flexo department. But this meant the quality had to match our flexo capabilities. The tools provided by Xeikon allowed us to create a perfect match between both digital and flexo.”

Vinesh Bhimani, CEO, adds: “In recent years we have noticed a clear trend for jobs with faster turnaround, in some cases combined with shorter run lengths. To remain competitive and address the market demand we felt it was time to move into digital printing. Going on this new adventure we felt Xeikon was best placed to partner us, based on their long term experience and eye for quality.”

Self adhesive label printer Innovo F&H hopes to bring new innovation to the Mexican and Central American label market through its investment. Owners Fabian Silva & Hugo Cruz focus on providing high quality, variable, high value and affordable full color labels in short and medium runs. Hugo comments: “This will allow us to become stronger and grow steadily as the market does. The Mexican label printer tends not to be focused and we want to break that mould by specializing in a trade service with digital printing.” As for the buying decision he says: “The press offers an alternative for the Mexican market with flexibility in substrates at high quality. It will help us address more specialized applications and broaden our services.”

BS Labels UK also chose the Xeikon 3300 to help relieve pressure on its flexo department and improve competitiveness. Crucial, too, was the ability to meet standards for indirect and direct food contact through the QA-I toner. Tony Pickering, managing director and owner of BS labels says: “It took a long time to decide on digital technology. The Xeikon toner and compatibility with food contact was a key factor in our decision as we mainly operate in the food label market.”

Filip Weymans, labels and packaging segment manager: “We are delighted that such a respected Middle Eastern label printer has recognized the many benefits of the Xeikon 3300 while working with Innovo F&H is the result of our increased focus on the LATAM. We are sure that these are just among the many companies across these regions that can use our technology to help give them a more competitive edge. Also we are happy to add BS Labels, a prestigious food label printer in the UK, to our large and fast growing customer base.”
