Versatile labelling solutions at Foodex exhibition

> At the Foodex exhibition in Birmingham, HERMA UK will showcase a wide range of efficient labelling systems for the food industry.

> Exhibits include, amongst others, top, front face, and base labelling machines, a VFFS solution that applies labels to tubular bags, and a marking system for laser-activatable labels.

At the Foodex exhibition in Birmingham, the UK's premier trade event for the food and drink processing, packaging, and logistics industries, HERMA UK (stand L279) will showcase a wide range of efficient industry solutions from April 18-20. The company will focus on labelling machines that are able to cover a wide range of requirements. The HERMA 752C, for instance, applies labels to the top, front face and bottom of packs with a maximum width of 340 mm in one pass. This labelling system masters speeds of up to 80 units per minute. With short changeover times and a variable speed conveyor, it can be easily integrated into existing production lines. The compact labelling machine HERMA 652C, on the other hand, is designed for top and base labelling of products. Both systems are based on the proven HERMA 400 label applicator.

Synchronized labelling of tubular bags

HERMA UK will also exhibit a labelling solution for vertical form fill & seal machinery. This ultra-compact version of the HERMA 400 labelling system applies labels, e.g. with promotional information, to form filled bags. It requires no control cabinet, can be modified to suit any installation, and can be integrated in almost any position. A master encoder permanently synchronises the speed of the label dispenser with the advance motion of the bag packaging machine. The system processes up to 90 bags per minute.
Moreover, HERMA UK will present laser-activatable labels which offer many advantages for food labelling. Comprised of a laser unit, a label applicator, and special labels,

HERMA laser systems do not require any other consumables or readjustments - unlike thermal transfer printing systems. Their wear-free operation prevents downtime. The specially developed labels produced by HERMA allow the laser to produce high-quality abrasion-proof black print. "At Foodex, our wide product and service range demonstrates how many different requirements in the food industry can be fulfilled with modular labelling machines", says Martin Kühl, head of HERMA's Labelling Machines division. "HERMA UK specializes in such food applications and acts as a competence center for this industry within the HERMA Group."
