UPM Raflatac at Labelexpo Europe 2009: Think Label!
With the theme Think Label! at this year's Labelexpo, UPM Raflatac is focusing on product innovation and commitment to investing in the future of self-adhesive labelling.
UPM Raflatac has recently introduced significant structural changes in Europe and invested in new production and distribution capacity to strengthen service coverage in growing label markets in Eastern Europe.
A new slitting and distribution terminal has been opened in St Petersburg, positioning UPM Raflatac as the first labelstock producer with its own distribution in Russia. A new distribution terminal will also open in Istanbul, Turkey, in the beginning of 2010. A new production and logistics centre was opened in Poland in May 2009.
Introducing the Thin Range
UPM Raflatac has launched a new range of thinner paper and film products providing the opportunity to switch to longer roll lengths, resulting in fewer roll changes and more labels per roll.
The Thin Range offers combinations with a new PP30 liner now available with paper face materials for high-volume labelling in the food and retail industries. The Thin Range also includes a selection of thinner Lite paper faces coupled with a thin Honey Glassine 50 liner, and films for beverage and home & personal care labelling now available with a thin PET25 liner.
Dedicated resources for special product development
UPM Raflatac is now focusing on creating more innovative products and services to deliver extra value to every link of the label value chain, from suppliers to end-users. Additional dedicated resources have been committed to product development to enhance special product capabilities and enable faster solutions for customized application needs.
