tesa SE parts company with tesa Bandfix AG in Switzerland

tesa SE is parting company with its Switzerland-based business, which focuses on self-adhesive decorative and design labels as well as labeling technology and is selling tesa Bandfix AG (155 employees) in Bergdietikon near Zurich. The new owner is palero capital.

The existing subsidiary, tesa tape Schweiz AG, with 31 employees, will continue to concentrate on selling the tesa product range (industrial and consumer) in the region. “This step is part of the consistent orientation towards our focus business areas. The production and marketing of design labels is not one of our core competencies. We are delighted to have found an investor with a long-term focus as a buyer in the shape of palero capital, a company that will provide the label printing works with the opportunity to further develop its business in a sustainable manner,” explains Thomas Schlegel, CEO of tesa SE. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

tesa Bandfix AG was founded in 1954 under the name Bandfix AG. In 1965 the company became the sole representative for the sale of the technical adhesive tapes and devices produced by Beiersdorf within Switzerland. In 1983 Beiersdorf AG acquired 50 percent of the capital stock, with Bandfix becoming a fully owned Beiersdorf subsidiary in 1988. When tesa became an independent joint-stock company within the Beiersdorf Group in 2001, Bandfix became a tesa subsidiary.
