Success for JMB Labels in Africa with MPS Flexo Press
Since the initial installation, JMB Labels has entered new markets, acquired new customers, and achieved an increase in sales.
MPS today announced success for its South African customer JMB Labels with their MPS EC UV flexo multi-substrate press. A year since the initial installation, JMB Labels has entered new markets, attracted new customers including FMCG companies, and achieved a 30% increase in sales.
Features of their MPS EF press include eight UV ink stations and two hot air driers for water-based ink, double die station, delam-relam and web turner bar, laminating and cold foil station and a film package for unsupported films. JMB Labels is currently printing self-adhesive labels and unsupported BOPP film, and are in the process of printing on PVC and PET film for the shrink label market.
Located in Johannesburg, South Africa JMB Labels has customers from leading South African and Southern African companies, with exports to Mozambique, Angola and Malawi, in various sectors including food, beverage and pharmaceutical. The family-run business, with involvement in printing dating back to 1928, is currently operated by Ahmed and Aslam Monia.
“The MPS press has improved our production process at all levels,” comments Aslam Monia, co-owner of JMB Labels. “Make-ready times are shorter with the use of printing sleeves as compared to conventional printing cylinders. The short web path facilitates cost saving on material and reduces wastage. Most importantly, print quality is constant throughout the run and it has given us the confidence to target more companies seeking high-end, quality labels and packaging for their products. As a result, we have experienced a 30% increase in sales.”
Ahmed Monia, co-owner of JMB Labels adds: “We are completely satisfied with the MPS press. Runs of 10,000 to 1,000,000 labels are done with ease and with efficiency. We are also quite pleased with the level of service received from the entire team at MPS. They are always willing to go the extra mile for us.”
