Strong sales of HP Indigo presses in Scandinavian countries

Increased adoption reflects benefits of digital presses for today's markets

BARCELONA, Spain, 23 February 2012 - HP today announced continuing strong sales into Norway, Sweden and Denmark with upgrades and multiple press installations.

Digital printing is well-suited to Scandinavia markets with shorter runs, and different language editions and enables quick and easy changes to keep images fresh, while shortened supply chains and reduced waste appeal to an environmentally conscious population.

"These sales demonstrate the strong pace of digital adoption by the printing industry," said Jakob Bovin, Indigo commercial region manager, HP. "By being able to offer digital offset print quality, short-runs, personalisation and quicker times to market, digital print service providers can maximise their own sales as well as those of their customers. Working with HP's regional partner, Visutech, we have seen the steady development of this market with investment in new presses, and repeat and multiple orders."

The nine press sales in Norway, Sweden and Denmark cover a broad spectrum of activities, encompassing commercial print, label converting and photo-specialty printing.

Among the presses sold are ones to:

  • Fovea AS, of Nittedal, Norway, an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press and an HP Indigo WS6000p Digital Press for special photo-printing, supplementing an existing HP Indigo press 5500
  • Holmbergs Service Point, of Svågertorp (near Malmo), Sweden, an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press for general commercial printing, to address on-demand production, notably with special PANTONE® Colours
  • Konsis Grafisk AS, of Oslo, Norway, an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press for commercial work, supplementing an existing HP Indigo press 5500
  • Kuvertteamet AB, of Bankeryd, Sweden, for commercial stationery and other commercial work
  • Lexit Group Sweden AB, of Mölnlycke, Sweden, an HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press for label printing
  • Rydheims Tryckeri, of Jönköping, Sweden, part of the Taberg Media Group, an HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press for general commercial printing, supplementing and existing HP Indigo press 5000
  • Sydetikett AB, of Arlöv, Sweden, an HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press, for label printing, supplementing an existing HP Indigo press ws4050

The speed and print quality of these latest HP Indigo digital presses(1) offer print service providers (PSPs) opportunities to increase production speeds and volumes as well as increased flexibility to meet customer needs.

"The growth of the digital label converting in Scandinavia has been very good," said Jan-Olof Jungersten, managing director, Visutech. "The many advantages of digital - cost-effective short runs, fast-turnaround times that support just-in-time delivery, reduced stocks, reduced waste, and high quality labels and flexible packaging - are becoming more widely appreciated. The sales of these high-end presses are a strong indication of the commitment to digital that PSPs continue to make."
