Stora Enso Speciality Papers successful at Interpack 2014

Stora Enso Speciality Papers showcased a number of new fibre-based products at Interpack 2014. They sparked great interest among the trade visitors, particularly those representing the printing and packaging industries, but also brand owners.

The focus of attention was on the newly launched LennoKraft, MediaCard and HybraPack.

LennoKraft is a white coated kraft paper. With its high tensile and tear resistance, it is suitable for packaging applications that involve high wear and tear because of high weight and/or long and difficult transportation, but at the same time requiring excellent printability and image quality. LennoKraft enables the production of highly appealing packaging that also has outstanding technical characteristics, such as bending and burst resistance. With the introduction of MediaCard, Stora Enso Speciality Papers has succeeded in developing a high-white board that meets the exacting demands of modern packaging: excellent convertibility and a double coated silk surface for high-quality printing and finishing. The applications for MediaCard are just incredably diverse, ranging from luxury bags and folding cartons to game cards. The marketing material presented at Interpack was very well received. The high-quality MediaCard toolkit, containing samples of all available basis weights, can be requested by email from mediacard@storaenso.com free of charge.

According to Marcus Weise, Business Development Manager, Speciality Papers, the fibre-based barrier material launched under the HybraPack brand was another highlight. “HybraPack allows brand owners to bring their products to the market in packaging that offers a barrier and high visual impact that is manufactured mainly from renewable raw materials,” says Weise. Consumers will also appreciate the pleasing look and feel of this new material, which is particularly suited for the production of exceptionally stable stand-up pouches. This allows bag-in-box packaging to be replaced by equivalent stand-up pouches.

Stora Enso Speciality Papers has a tradition of inviting brand owners, packaging manufacturers and printers to evening events during Interpack. The focus of interest of the international professionals invited to these events was not only on the new products, but also on paper grades such as LumiFlex, which is increasingly being used in flexible packaging, and MediaLiner, the bright-white graphic top liner for corrugated packaging, displays and other laminats.
