Sleeve Labeling: Enhancing the value of brands AWA events study markets, technologies, materials

Sleeve labelling in all its forms is a dynamic and growing market, and one which AWA Alexander Watson Associates’ portfolio of market reports and related events tracks strongly. Following the lively AWA International Sleeve Label Conference and Exhibition 2017 recently held in Miami, Florida, the company is already planning the schedule for the 2018 event, which moves to new destination – Atlanta, Georgia – in April next year.

Innovation and brand value

Taking as its theme ‘Innovation – enhancing the value of brands’, the event will embrace all the extant converting and application technologies, materials science, design elements, the sustainability agenda and, of course, the brand owners’ needs and wants, and will also see the winners in the 2018 AWA Sleeve Label Awards presented with their prizes.

Seminar program

The 2017 AWA upcoming events schedule in the sleeve labelling arena also features the free-to-attend AWA Shrink Sleeve Europe Seminar, part of the Labelexpo Europe events program in Brussels, taking place on 27 September, and the AWA Asian Sleeve Labeling Seminar 2017, to be held in Shanghai on 4 December – just prior to Labelexpo Asia.

Underlining current high levels of interest in sleeve labeling, AWA President and CEO Corey M Reardon comments: ‘Our research shows that sleeve labels now represent an 18% share of the global labeling market, and – while growth levels have slowed from five years ago – they are still ahead of other leading labelling technologies such as pressure-sensitive, glue applied, and in-mold. New application segments outside the “traditional” beverage market for sleeve labels are emerging, and of course they are also being embraced by the world’s developing economies – in Asia, for example. There is still plenty of room for innovation at all steps of the value chain.’
