Schreiner MediPharm to Showcase Economical Specialty Solutions for Marking, Sample Blinding and Needle Protection in the Pharma Sector
Oberschleissheim, December 20, 2010 - Schreiner MediPharm will showcase selected and award-winning products at Pharmapack 2011 in Paris from February 23 to 24, 2011. The specialist for labels with value-added benefits for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries will present intelligent marking solutions which guarantee a plus in user-friendliness, efficiency and safety: the Pharma-Comb SL label for multi-dose medications, self-adhesive colored films to neutralize clinical trial samples and the Needle-Trap needle protection systems.
Pharma-Comb SL label enables efficient multi-dose medication
The Pharma-Comb SL label by Schreiner MediPharm enables fast and convenient marking of multi-dose medications. After opening the upper label, the detachable label parts underneath automatically "rise." They can be easily detached and applied to pre-filled disposable syringes even when wearing gloves. This product solution offers a high level of patient safety through clear identification and traceability of the drug up to the time of administration. The Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) recognized the Pharma-Comb SL label with a first-place award in the Annual TLMI Awards competition at the end of 2010.
Colored film solution neutralizes clinical trial samples
To neutralize the appearance of liquid substances filled into transparent containers Schreiner MediPharm has developed a translucent self-adhesive film that can be adapted to suit the color of the liquids. The view of the fill level is preserved to see how much liquid is contained in the vial or syringe. In addition, the film can be printed with graduation lines and product information. A "proof-of-first-opening" element using shrink solutions can be integrated as well. The film helps improve the quality and reliability of clinical trial results.
Needle-Trap: award-winning protection against needlestick injuries
Needle-Trap offers reliable protection from needlestick injuries. The plastic safety mechanism that is integrated into the label secures the blood-contaminated needle after the injection and thus helps protect healthcare personnel from accidental needlestick injuries. Due to the simple design principle of Needle-Trap and easy integration into existing production processes the costs for implementing this solution are low. In addition, Needle-Trap reduces the consumption of materials and complexity of packaging, thus offering environmental benefits. Schreiner MediPharm has already won multiple awards for this novel and intelligent system, most recently the 2010 World Label Award in the "Innovation" group.
