Ready Recognition of Efficient and Safe Truck Fleets Equipped with ContiPressureCheck
Thanks to a label from Schreiner ProTech, a quick glance at the outside now tells if a truck fleet is equipped with the ContiPressureCheck system. The tire pressure monitoring system cuts operating costs by 1,500 euros per vehicle and year, and enhances safety. To communicate these benefits, Continental uses weather-resistant labels applied to tractors and trailers in readily visible places. Neither environmental influences such as sunlight and water nor diverse cleaning technologies and chemicals can damage the special PreScript label.
The ContiPressureCheck system continuously measures the pressure and temperature of all tires on the vehicle–even while it is being driven. “This helps save fuel and increase tire mileage. In addition, the risk of breakdowns due to tire failure is minimized. Thanks to our system, truck fleet operators can actively reduce their operating costs by 1,500 euros per vehicle and year, while improving driver and vehicle safety,” explains premium tire manufacturer Continental. The external markings make these benefits readily visible for anyone.
Communicating Additional Benefit on a Label: in Sun, Rain and Snow
To support manufacturers that extend their portfolio by the tire pressure monitoring system, Continental decided to apply a readily visible label to the vehicles. A challenge, as sales engineer Jens Klüdtke from Schreiner ProTech explains: “The labels not only have to withstand prolonged sun exposure, but resist high water pressures and chemical cleaning agents as well.” In addition, the labels have to perfectly adhere to diverse substrates, on the various types of vehicle paint and on the wheel wells.
PreScript Label with Specialty Construction on some 22,000 Trucks per Year
Schreiner ProTech was able to successfully meet these challenges due to decades of experience, a large material mix, an extensive portfolio of adhesion technologies and diverse machinery. “As a marking solution for this project we selected PreScript labels, which are resistant to the effects of UV radiation and chemicals as well as various cleaning technologies,” Jens Klüdtke says. Continental was perfectly satisfied. Now, 22,000 trucks per year are provided with a “big label” on painted metal. The “small labels” for the wheel wells complete the marking.
