Quality Assurance Redefined: Helvetikett Optimises Processes With the EyeC Proofiler 600 DT

In line with its corporate values of "quality, innovation and sustainability", Helvetikett AG continuously strives to improve its production processes to ensure compliance with the highest standards. The need to implement an inspection solution arose from the investment to replace an existing EyeC
system with a successor model, which is required for mandatory offline inspections in quality assurance. In addition, the decision in favour of a new system was influenced by the introduction of various ISO certifications that required specific qualities of the new device. "One of our core competencies is to quickly identify opportunities for improvement and take the necessary measures to further expand our technological leadership," emphasizes Pascal Stieger, Head of Quality Management at Helvetikett AG. “Accordingly, we knew what requirements the new device had to fulfill to avoid potential problems in quality assurance."

The Hunt for an Innovative Solution
In order to continue to ensure Helvetikett's quality standards, the search for a suitable inspection solution was a crucial step. After extensive research and evaluation of various options, the EyeC Proofiler 600 DT was chosen. The choice of the scanner-based system in A2 format was influenced by various convincing factors, including its ease of use, considerable time savings in the inspection process and the expertise already gained from many years of using the previous system. "EyeC's familiar operation and competent service were decisive factors for us as an existing customer. The personal contact and support from our contact person Christian Hauswald also convinced us," says Stieger, confirming the decision.

Using the EyeC Proofiler 600 DT
The EyeC Proofiler 600 DT is used daily by employees for quality assurance. The system enables documented offline inspections that are customized to specific customer requirements. It combines the power of intelligent software with the performance of a high-resolution scanner, enabling ultrafast
sample inspection. Employees scan the production sheets and compare them with an approved "master file" - usually a PDF file - which makes it easy to identify discrepancies between the master and sample. "The inspection is straightforward, fast, objective and reproducible. The system also complies with the ISO certifications and regulations required by customers, such as ISO 9001, ISO 15378 (GMP) or FSSC 22000," says the quality manager, highlighting the use of the system. He also stresses the documentation of all results for perfect traceability. In this way, Helvetikett ensures that all products meet the company's strict quality standards.

Remarkable Results
Since the first implementation in 2006 and continuous software updates of the EyeC Proofiler 600 DT, Helvetikett AG has already achieved significant advantages in its inspection processes. Compared to the previous model, the inspection cycles have become around 40% faster - a considerable time saving for employees and increased efficiency for the entire production process. In
addition, the system enables accurate foreign language and code checks, including 1D and 2D codes, further increasing the flexibility and precision of the checks. The EyeC Proofiler 600 DT also allows for more precise checking of multi-layer samples. This leads to a significant reduction in the error rate and at the same time ensures that all products meet Helvetikett AG’s high quality standard. "The collaboration with EyeC has not only had a positive impact on quality assurance but has also improved the entire production chain," explains Stieger. "This rapid success was primarily due to the simple and familiar operation and the competent training provided by the responsible EyeC service engineer Franz Manegold."

Next Steps
For the future, Helvetikett AG plans to further expand the use of the EyeC Proofiler 600 DT. In collaboration with EyeC, additional training courses will be offered to employees in order to further optimise quality assurance and exploit the full potential of the system.
