Print Excellence Awards - Labelpak
Labelpak South Africa received the 2013 Gold award for LABELS – SELF-ADHESIVE (PROCESS) on 17/09/2013.
A category (PROCESS) that required an enormous amount of scrutiny to determine rankings.
The judges picked this entry for Gold because of its clever combination screening that achieves a soft and delicate result.
Printed on a MPS EF410 9 colour press.
Inks: Flint UV Flexocure force CMYK.
Substrate: Avery Dennison AD807 White cavitated polypropylene S692N BG40W.
Over laminate: Polypropylene 20 micron clear.
Laminate adhesive: Select Inks FUV1191
Cutting Die: Kocher Beck flexible - laser hardened.
Aniloxes: 4 x Apex GTT small.
Printing plates: Cyrel DPU solvent plates processed by ACME GRAPHICS with HDFlexo screens at 175-200 lpi.
A Fogra Round dot was used to produce the least noise and clean vignettes and tone transitions.
Acme’s comments are “We found that the DPU plate gives us excellent ink transfer (high solid densities) and low dot gain which makes it particularly well suited to high end full colour work. Furthermore, the highlights that round tip dots produce (not flat top) result in extremely low minimum dot sizes and thus much higher contrast!”
Well done to Labelpak for achieving this level of excellence!
