PPG and Abbott Label team up to create digital labels for high-end security applications
PPG (NYSE:PPG) and label converter, Abbott Label, worked together to test and create label samples of PPG TESLIN® substrate printed on a Domino UV inkjet press.
Abbott Label needed a synthetic paper that would offer advanced security and extreme durability for high-end security labels that could be easily printed on a Domino N610I press which the company purchased in December, 2019. Having experienced success with PPG Teslin material on their HP Indigo and flexo presses, they decided to test the substrate on their new Domino press.
According to John Abbott, President, “Teslin substrate is a great, durable product. It’s extremely unique and not at all like a generic polypropylene which might be offered by ten different vendors.” Abbott Label has recommended the material to their customers who print chemical drum labels, wine bottles, racking labels or pharmaceutical applications (as the material withstands a range of sterilization methods as well as cryofreezing.).
