Nilpeter to debut new flexible packaging press
Nilpeter is to launch the new MO-5 offset press, developed with a focus on the flexible packaging market as a supplement to the company’s 20-22in presses.
The new Nilpeter press line is designed for short-run packaging printing applications using technology developed for the label market for fast set-up with minimum material waste.
The MO-5 features easy-load lightweight aluminum sleeves and is built on a platform configuration allowing combinations of flexo, screen, gravure and lamination technologies. The press is CIP 3 compatible and utilizes Nilpeter’s Enhanced inking unit to optimize for packaging printing applications.
The MO-5 will launch at Labelexpo Europe 2013 in September, and the first installation has been confirmed at a major Brazilian converter.
Nilpeter has already announced the European introduction of the FB-3 and FA-4* series flexo presses. A key feature is ultra-low power consumption managed by a new power regeneration servo system, which together with the latest low power UV technology is claimed to reduce carbon footprint significantly.
Nilpeter will also introduce a software function allowing the in-press job management center to log the total carbon footprint of each job to the job ticket.
