Momentive Performance Materials is launching a new UV Photo Initiator , Silforce* UV9388C intended for use in non Silicone applications such as Cationic UV cure inks . Silforce* UV9388C is easy to use with most cationic curing organic coatings based on cyclo aliphatic epoxy, vinyl ether, glycidyl ether, oxetane, epoxidized olefine and epoxidized unsaturated natural oils functional materials . Generally 2 to 10 parts by weight of Silforce* UV9388C photo initiator are used in the coating or ink formulation , depending on the formulation and the substrate .
Key benefits of Silforce* UV9388C are high reactivity and efficient photo response even at low concentration, non yellowing properties and excellent solubility in epoxy resins , polymers and inks .The cationic curing chemistry provided by Silforce*UV9388C will not need Nitrogen inerting to polymerize .The chemistry of Silforce*UV9388C is Antimony free and will not release benzene during UV curing process .The material is 100% active powder .
