Mimaki Scoops Two Prestigious EDP Awards

Mimaki's price/ performance ratio and sustainability efforts rewarded

Mimaki’s advances in print technology have been recognised by industry professionals, after it landed two coveted European Digital Press (EDP) Association Awards. The company won the Best Wide Format Textile Printer accolade for the Mimaki TS500-1800, while the Mimaki JV-400LX Series was named the Best Environmental Printing Solution.

The EDP Association awarded the Mimaki TS500-1800 its prize because of the: “Breakthrough in price and performance for indirect dyesub printing with up to 250m long and a print speed of 150m2/h.” This printer, together with Mimaki’s new Sb300 sublimation ink, delivers enhanced capabilities and productivity to the textile apparel and soft signage markets by eliminating the need to print to transfer papers. The Mimaki TX500-1800 printer is expected to be available in June 2012.

The Mimaki JV-400LX Series also received high praise from the EDP Association: “With the new piezo head, the viscocity of the ink is higher, meaning less drying time. Combined with the white ink option and lower energy consumption, the Mimaki JV-400LX is a worthy winner.” The JV400 product line achieves faster print speed and higher print quality without compromise. The JV400-130/160LX is a latex printer featuring newly developed environmentally friendly latex ink. The JV400-130/160SUV is a revolutionary inkjet printer, blending the flexibility of solvent printing with the durability of UV-cured inks. These new printers are expected to be available come Spring 2012. Both printers deliver maximized performance with Mimaki’s user-friendly RIP, RasterLink6, enabling three ink layers in one pass with white and color inks.

The EDP Association is a not-for-profit organisation that recognises the latest innovations in the digital print industry. The Association comprises publishers of leading European magazines devoted to digital printing and associated products. The publications cover 14 countries, with a readership exceeding one million graphic arts professionals.

The EDP Association Awards acknowledge best-in-class products across the digital print landscape. EDP Association accolades are awarded following an assessment by the organization’s independent panel of digital print experts.

Mike Horsten, Marketing Manager at Mimaki comments: “It’s always an honour to be recognised by highly respected print professionals. The award underlines our commitment to research and development, and to delivering the very best products to our customers.”
