Marzek organises 2nd summer holidays for children of Ukrainian employees

As in the previous year, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging enabled 25 children of Ukrainian employees of the Marzek Group to spend their summer holidays in Hungary.

This summer, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging once again offered 25 children from the employees of its subsidiary Marzek-Dnipropack in Ukraine and 5 accompanying adults the opportunity to experience carefree and unforgettable holidays in Békéscsaba, Hungary. Following the great success of last year's holiday event, the team from Marzek Kner Packaging, the Hungarian subsidiary of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging, once again put together a varied and exciting programme.

"It is a matter close to our hearts to offer the children of our employees in Ukraine a break from the war and its daily horrors in their home country. The children should be able to enjoy at least two weeks of carefree holidays," says Dr Johannes Michael Wareka, 4th generation of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging, explaining the motivation of the owner family Marzek/Schneller-Scharau/Wareka for this project. As in the previous year, István Kása, Managing Director of Marzek Kner Packaging, and his team put together a varied holiday programme with great commitment. Excursions to castles and palaces, a visit to the zoo, canoe trips, sporting activities of all kinds and a visit to Budapest with a tour of the Danube provided the best entertainment. The children were delighted to receive caps, T-shirts, gym bags and powerbanks as gifts, which they can use not only for cool holidays but also at home.

Apart from the social benefits, special payments and other perks with which the owner family of Marzek Etiketten+Packaging has been trying to alleviate the suffering of its employees at Marzek-Dnipropack LLC since the beginning of the war, this project is particularly close to their hearts. Dr Johannes Michael Wareka therefore took the opportunity to visit the holiday camp together with his wife Rossana and his children Oliver, Marie and Stefanie and to see for himself that the children were enjoying the holidays to the full: "We were very pleased to see how enthusiastically the children accepted the activities. As in the previous year, our Hungarian team did a great job with numerous helpers and spared no effort to offer the children this great experience, and the children thanked us for inviting them to this holiday camp with homemade pictures and handicrafts. Their shining eyes and loving hugs touched us deeply," adds Dr Johannes Michael Wareka.

As in the previous year, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging secured the support of the Hungarian and Ukrainian embassies to ensure the smooth transfer of the children across the country's borders. "We are very grateful to the embassies for their support. Without the uncomplicated help of the official bodies in Hungary and Ukraine, it would certainly not have been possible for us to implement this holiday project," summarises Dr Johannes Michael Wareka.
