Marzek honoured at FINAT International Label Awards

As in previous years, Marzek Etiketten+Packaging was also successful at this year's prestigious FINAT International Label Awards, this time even winning the ‘Marketing/End-uses’ group across all categories and the A2 ‘Marketing/End uses: Beers and Spirits’ category. In addition, five other projects received ‘Highly commended’ awards.

Every year, FINAT, the international labelling industry association, honours outstanding achievements in the production of self-adhesive labels and flexible packaging, thereby underlining their importance for marketing and advertising. Marzek Etiketten+Packaging was able to continue its FINAT series of successes this year, winning the group, one category and five ‘Highly Commended’ awards.

The YUZUCELLO project won across all categories in the ‘Marketing/End-uses’ group. ‘We are delighted that we were able to impress the jury with our high-quality production, in which the quality of the product was perfectly emphasised with a golden hot foil stamping in combination with very fine as well as intensive elements,’ said Dr Johannes Michael Wareka, CEO and 4th generation of the traditional family business, who accepted the award at a festive gala in Athens.

The noble simplicity of the YUZUCELLO label, printed in a single colour in black and produced with the finest gold foil embossing on a high-quality mother-of-pearl substrate, won over the judges. The jury's statement said: ‘For this label, a silver, pearlescent substrate with a smooth surface was chosen to bring the image embossed in gold foil to the fore in a subtle yet intense way, emphasising the quality of the product. The raised images of the number 30 and the Asian lady act as eye-catchers.’

The projects for Weingut Paul Achs GmbH, Copperstone OG, Rick Spirit GmbH, Weingut Schmidt GmbH and Wetschka Leopold Weingut Agerlhof received a ‘Highly Commended’ award. 

What all the projects have in common is the use of sophisticated, state-of-the-art finishes that give the labels a unique elegance and exclusivity. In addition, carefully selected substrates perfectly emphasise the respective design and ensure a unique haptic experience. A particularly interesting technique was realised in the project for Copperstone OG: Two different layers of paper were laminated together for these unusual and elaborately produced labels. The front was printed on uncoated paper with striking foil embossing in gold, blue, red and anthracite. A transparent material was chosen for the reverse side. The motifs, which shine through the contents of the bottle, create a fascinating 3D effect.
