Labels produced on Nilpeter’s CASLON win Award
On April 11, International Label & Printing Co. in Illinois received four awards for “Outstanding Achievement in Digital Printing” in the Great Lakes Graphics Association’s “2013 Graphics Excellence Awards”. The labels were printed on a Nilpeter FA-3 combination UV-Flexo/CASLON UV-InkJet digital press.
The four awards won by International Label were given in the categories “Best in Category” and “Awards of Excellence”. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of colour, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery, and overall visual impact.
“We are very proud of this accomplishment”, says Mark Turk, President & CEO of International Label. “Being the first label converter in North America to install the Nilpeter CASLON hybrid digital-flexo press has really paid off and put us ahead. We feel truly privileged to have the opportunity to work with the Nilpeter team, who never ceases to impress us”, Mark Turk concludes.
The CASLON is an inline digital solution that looks, acts, and feels like a conventional press. It combines high quality digital printing with conventional printing and converting.
Features include a new InkJet-based, digital spot colour unit that prints UV-curable ink on a wide range of substrates. This not only enhances the printing capabilities significantly, but also completely eliminates conventional prepress procedures, speeds up production times, and minimises costs through improved job control. The CASLON’s modular design fits into Nilpeter’s flexographic FA-Line of presses.
