HP to showcase high-value applications produced on HP Indigo press 5500 at Africa Print 2011

BARCELONA, Spain, 20 July 2011 - HP today announced that the capabilities of the HP Indigo press 5500 will be demonstrated live on the Kemtek Imaging Systems stand at Africa Print 2011 (stand F9-F26, Hall 1), 24-26th August, Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

The HP Indigo press 5500 will be producing high-value, on-demand printed products, such as personalised marketing collateral and photobooks, giving visitors to Africa Print 2011 the opportunity to see the many high-quality applications achievable with HP Indigo technology, as well as the numerous production benefits of digital printing.

"HP Indigo presses are designed to give print service providers [PSPs] the best possible competitive advantage in this challenging marketplace," said Kim Rehbock, business development manager, South Africa, HP Indigo. "The HP Indigo press 5500 is a perfect example of this - enabling PSPs to deliver the most innovative, high-quality products, cost-effective short runs and greater levels of productivity. All these factors are key to securing profitability and business success, and Africa Print 2011 provides us with the ideal platform to demonstrate the ways in which businesses can thrive with our technology."

Capable of printing 68ppm full colour and 272ppm monochrome in one pass, regardless of media type or thickness, the HP Indigo 5500 enables high levels of productivity, helping PSPs meet customer deadlines and run efficient and streamlined operations. With a wide colour gamut of up to seven colours, including white, and utilising HP Electroink liquid ink technology, PANTONEĀ® emulation and the spot colour capabilities of the HP Indigo press 5500, PSPs can achieve consistently high-quality prints.

In addition, the ability to print on a wide-range of substrates as standard, or enhance this flexibility further to print on transparent, metallic and coloured media with the HP Indigo White Ink option kit, provides HP Indigo PSPs with extensive possibilities to enhance their product portfolios.

"The many profitable solutions made possible by the HP Indigo press 5500 include premium quality consumer products, such as photobooks, personalised greeting cards and calendars, as well as creative and clever B2B and B2C applications, like targeted direct mail, company brochures with variable content and transpromotional marketing materials. No matter who your existing customers are, you'll find new ways to enhance your product offering and inspiration for avenues into new market sectors when you see the HP Indigo technology on show at Africa Print 2011," concluded Rehbock.

Other presses in the HP Indigo range and available through Kemtek Imaging Systems include: the HP Indigo 7500 Digital Press, capable of 120 full colour pages per minute; the HP Indigo press ws4500 and the HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press for label, shrink sleeve, flexible packaging and folding carton production; and the HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press for high-volume publication, direct mail and transpromotional applications.
