Herma: Live is Life
By starting a global exhibition offensive, self-adhesive solutions specialist HERMA is underscoring the continued significance of live events.
While addressing a variety of topics at the individual venues, it is focusing on innovative applicator technology and self-adhesive materials for sustainable label solutions. The series commences in the fall with the exhibitions PackExpo in Las Vegas, PPMA in Birmingham and SWOP in Shanghai. These are to be followed in the spring by the shows Logimat in Stuttgart, ACHEMA in Frankfurt and Labelexpo in Brussels. While trade fairs were unable to operate, HERMA took the opportunity to establish its own multimedia platform called HERMAviEvent. Available now, it enables customers to watch events and presentations of labeling machines and self-adhesive materials live on screen and to engage in direct dialog with their usual contacts at the same time. Thanks to the streaming technology, content can also be retrieved later 24/7 at www.herma.com/machines/hermavievent. “In many respects the Covid-19 pandemic was – and continues to be – a very challenging time for everyone. But it also taught us a valuable lesson about how customers and other stakeholders want to keep in touch with technology companies such as HERMA in the future,” says Martin Kühl, Vice President Labeling Machines. “For one thing, it highlighted a clear desire to maintain live face-to-face contact in the long term. At the same time, many of the people we talk to have come to appreciate the advantages of sharing even fairly complex content digitally. The benefits include the ability to obtain initial insights quickly, achieve cost savings or overcome unforeseen travel restrictions – but no matter how they are harvested, nobody wants these options to be taken away. We are well equipped to engage with our audiences in the many different ways that are now possible.”
Focus on pharma, sustainability and performance
Its comprehensive skill set in labeling technology for the pharma industry is at the forefront of HERMA’s showing at PackExpo in Las Vegas (September 27 through 29, Booth SL-6608). Among the stand-out products is the wrap-around labeler 132M, which has already played a major part in labeling vaccine vials thanks to its high performance and rapid availability. The exhibits also include the two-side labeler 362 TE for tamper-evident applications and the semi-automatic all-round labeler 211 HC, which reliably processes even the smallest batches and products that tend to tip over. At the PPMA show in Birmingham (September 28 through 30, Booth C42) in turn, sustainability takes center stage. One of the highlights here is the HERMA InNo-Liner system – a print & apply solution for linerless shipping labels. Its clear environmental credentials were acknowledged by the award of the German Packaging Prize back in 2019. HERMA is also using this event to demonstrate the role that suitable label stock can play, for example, in improving recycling processes. The must-see product at the SWOP exhibition in Shanghai (November 23 through 25, Booth N2E09) is the HERMA 500 applicator, including the full-spec version with motorized winders. Chinese end-users and machine builders in particular are attaching more and more importance to high performance, even in applications that present complex challenges. The entry-level HERMA basic will be playing a prominent part at the SWOP as well. In view of its reliability and simple operation, the emerging Asian markets are generating especially strong demand for this model. The focal points of the international trade fairs scheduled for spring 2022 are still being finalized at the moment. HERMA also intends to exhibit at further shows later in 2002.
