Gallus has its finger on the pulse at Labelexpo 2013
With visitor numbers at its stand up over 30 percent on 2011, numerous promising contacts and impressive machine sales in the double-digit range, Gallus enjoyed an excellent Labelexpo. Due to the many new suppliers of digital presses, countless visitors were looking for guidance in their decision-making process to ensure future-focused label manufacture. With the Gallus Print Shop concept, Gallus demonstrated the practical combination of digital and conventional printing methods along with the finishing of printed rolls in the production environment – an impressive portfolio of solutions.
Not a question of conventional or digital
No fewer than 61 live demonstrations and workshops gave visitors to the Gallus stand an excellent overview of the entire range of printing methods – from screen, flexographic and offset to rotogravure and digital. They were able to see with their own eyes how to efficiently combine the benefits of each technology. With the Gallus Print Shop concept, Gallus introduced a new method for combining the advantages of digital and conventional printing methods by networking the individual presses and controlling the production process centrally using innovative CERM MIS workflow software. This concept makes label production extremely easy, whether all-digital, entirely conventional or hybrid with “pre-print & insetting”. It also turns traditionally machine-based production planning and control into a smart, comprehensive end-to-end solution that improves machine utilisation, enables the dynamic and flexible application and combination of all printing methods (new, innovative design and product decoration options) and reduces the overall order planning and processing workload. Gallus is the only supplier to offer the full range of printing methods – both digital and conventional – from a single source, thus ensuring that the Gallus Print Shop concept provides a complete solution for fast and cost-effective label production with possible savings of up to 20 percent.
New near-line solution for efficient digital label production
In addition to the Gallus Print Shop concept, the highly flexible near-line solution comprising the Linoprint L from Heidelberg and the Gallus ECS C also proved particularly popular. This solution combines the benefits of high-resolution, digital four-colour inkjet printing with conventional highperformance finishing. As required and at the touch of a button, labels can be printed digitally inline on the Heidelberg Linoprint L and finished and die cut on the Gallus ECS C, or the two machines can be operated independently offline. Thanks to this unique hybrid option, label printers remain highly flexible and can avoid downtimes while also benefiting from cost-efficient production.
The new Gallus ECS 340 with “Plus” update package to boost cost-efficiency
The new Gallus ECS 340 with “Plus” update package was another big hit. This package offers the following six productivity-boosting innovations: 1) A screen printing unit, 2) more powerful UV curing, 3) a secondary rail system, 4) new unwinding and rewinding equipment and a foil kit for
monofoil substrates, 5) a software update with a higher maximum machine speed and 6) a new touchscreen user interface. These substantial further developments – the result of close cooperation with Gallus customers – enable label printers to provide a better customer service,
extend their range of applications and significantly boost their cost-efficiency.
Rush for Gallus Screeny Genuine screen printing plates
Hundreds of visitors also made use of the vouchers distributed prior to the exhibition to obtain free Gallus Screeny Genuine screen printing plates. They will now be able to see for themselves what is possible and experience the unrivalled quality and impressive reliability of Gallus in-house solutions for rotary screen printing.
