Frimpeks® continue UK investment plan
Remarkably 12 months have past since Frimpeks® launched its UK presence and opened its Saxmundham site. The specialist label stocks division produces a broad range of adhesives from standard permanents through to deep freeze, removables and super peel.
As a global manufacturer Frimpeks® have kept to their word and today announced a significant investment on extension plans that will see the site extended by a further 25,000 sq.ft. allowing room for the planned capital equipment expansion planned for 2016 and the next 3 years. Additional warehousing will also be available increasing storage space tenfold.
The investment includes the expansion of the existing coating line to incorporate greater automation and flexibility. In addition a new slitter incorporating fully automated packing lines is being installed in Q2 2016. UK Managing Director Dave Casey commented. “This announcement underlines Frimpeks® commitment to following through on its 5 year plan.” He added, “The site expansion and new plant will increase capacity and follows a similar investment at our sister plant in Remscheid Germany. The Hot Melt coating capability will provide the flexibility and capacity our growing customer base demand and will give us a basis to continue our growth plans and serve the European market.”
Saxmundham already manufactures or distributes self-adhesive laminates, inks and digital media. Frimepeks UK offer a comprehensive range of face materials including papers, polypropylene, polyethylene and vinyl. This is supported by a wide range of liners including glassines, Krafts, PP’s and PET’s. Ticket and tag laminates are also available and NPD and constant innovation are at the forefront of the company’s development.
Group Managing Director Emre Sayer commented on the news. “We pride ourselves on the knowledge bank and skills of our people and therefore are pleased to commit to further recruitment at our UK site that should see the workforce double in number across the next few years. We have a tremendously experienced and committed team at the Saxmundham plant that is an important element of our global operation and we see a fantastic opportunity to grow the Frimpeks® brand.”
