Esko flexo customers nab four of six Best of Show FTA Excellence in Flexography honors
Esko hardware or software users are vast majority of award recipients
Esko (www.esko.com) announces that four of the six Best of Show winners at this year’s 2014 FTA Excellence in Flexography Awards used plates from Esko CDI digital flexo imagers. In addition, more than 70% of all winning entries were submitted by companies who are customers of Esko software or CDI’s.
FTA’s annual Excellence in Flexography Awards competition regularly showcases the best print work from an industry that is thriving, continually evolving and always in-tune with innovation. Each year, teams of judges evaluate an assortment of labels, pouches, shrink sleeves, folding cartons, corrugated boxes, linerboard containers, envelopes, napkins, balloons, cups, plates and flexibles to determine which takes home a gold, silver, bronze or the coveted Best of Show designation. Print samples are evaluated for high-quality graphics, tight registrations, extensive tonal ranges, color that is crisp, and type that is solid, just to name a few judging considerations.
“It’s very rewarding to see many winning entries using plates imaged on an ESKO CDI and receiving Best of Shows for a variety of categories—from corrugated to labels. It shows that our imaging devices can be used successfully in virtually any facility that requires high quality flexo,” explains Ian Hole, Esko VP, Market Development. “Also, many of the entries used our HD Flexo or Full HD Flexo imaging technology, extending printable dots as well as expanding the printable gamut.”
