Desmedt Labels installs customized roll change technology
Belgium-based converter Desmedt Labels has installed customized Martin Automatic MBSF unwind/splicers on its Nilpeter and Gidue flexo presses to improve productivity and reduce waste.
Desmedt Labels produces promotional labels, coupons, dry peel labels, tags, duo and trio labels, as well as tamper evident and RFID labels. Printing is carried out using flexo and digital presses, and the company holds EN ISO 9001-2008 accreditation and is FSC compliant.
The Martin Automatic technology has been customized to meet the limited space available in the production hall. The result is that the MBSF machines have a higher than standard festoon, but with a short footprint.
Martin Automatic European sales manager Bernd Schopferer said: ‘The beauty of the MBS system is its flexibility and the manner in which it can be tailored to suit almost any configuration and space limitation within the production environment. The Desmedt installation highlights this perfectly.’
