A legend of the labelling industry to retire this Christmas after 40 years of unbroken service.
Label manufacturer Interket UK will wish a fond farewell to Derek Maskell on the 23rd December 2019.
Derek joined the Whaley Bridge site back in 1979 under its former identity Stampiton. Now part of the Interket Group of Companies the Derbyshire based site serves a wide range of sectors including; manufacturing, security, logistics, chemicals, dairy, food, beverage and horticulture. Uniquely coating their own label stocks for both on-roll and sheeted labels used in the packaging, office products and stationery markets.
Derek comments on his time with Stampiton/Interket UK. “I have witnessed many changes over four decades in the label industry. Not one for keeping still, my next challenge will be to fill my time in my retirement. However I am sure my family will help with that.”
UK Sales & Operations Director Tim Pattison added. “Derek will be sorely missed by everyone at Interket, a true gent and popular character. He has been a pivotal figure in the historical growth and expansion of the business, having been the “Commander” and “Chief of Sales” for many years his extensive knowledge and expertise has built the longstanding relationships we cherish today with our loyal customers.” He concludes. “In excess of 40 years in one industry let alone the same business is a true testament to Dereks dedication and effervescent personality. We all wish him a very happy retirement.”
In this tumultuous time for UK businesses it is a refreshing change to take a moment and celebrate one man’s dedication to our industry.
