FINAT Webinar Series 2019: Holy Grail in the use of tracers/markers on labels and PET bottles

This webinar will describe an EU project that aims to introduce new sorting technology for PET bottles in the recycling processes. This technology will further enhance the near-infra-red ( NIR ) sorting technologies currently used, as it will be able to sort food-grade PET from non-food-grade PET containers.
This sorting technology will have major consequences for label printers as it will require either one of two technologies to be used in the printing of the labels.
One alternative is the use of a digital watermark in the label, the other is the use of a fluorescent marker printed on the labels. A final decision on which technology will be used has not been made yet.
